About the Project

Approximately three months ago, a nail artist from the central region approached me with an innovative idea for an application. She explained that she believes many women would benefit from a solution to a common problem: while they find countless nail design inspirations on platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, they often hesitate to present these ideas to their manicurists due to uncertainty about the final outcome.

Her proposed solution was an app that would provide users with real-time simulations of the designs they find inspiring.

I found this concept to be truly charming, especially as a woman who enjoys nail care.

It seemed to me that this could be a game-changer for many women, significantly enhancing their nail care experience.

The project is currently in the final stages of design and is transitioning to the development phase. As a result, it has not yet been fully completed.

My Working Process

At the outset of the project, I realized how limited my knowledge was regarding the intricacies of nail care. Although I regularly visit a manicurist, I had never delved into the nuances of nail design. To gain inspiration, I embarked on a comprehensive research journey, exploring platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, and various image repositories.

As I began designing the UX screens, I opted for a gradual approach, involving the client in the creation of a new user flow. Her expertise in the field proved invaluable, as she provided crucial insights into the true needs of users beyond mere aesthetics.

Following the completion of the UX screens, I shifted my focus to the UI, experimenting with color palettes that would complement the app's overall aesthetic.

Given the app's vibrant nature, derived from the multitude of design inspirations, I aimed to create a minimalist interface with minimal distractions.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, while the project is still ongoing and subject to further modifications, I can confidently state that I have learned to place a heightened emphasis on the app's functionality throughout the process.

With each screen I designed, I questioned its necessity and considered whether the user would intuitively understand the flow I had created.

These queries will remain unanswered until usability testing is conducted, at which point the clarity and effectiveness of the design will become more apparent.
